Argues Lat. theonym Sēmō is connected to a Proto-Celtic *Segomū (> Gaul. Segomoni, Og. segamanas, OIr. (Nia) Segamon), positing a Proto-Italo-Celtic *seĝhomōn- ‘strong one,' ‘strongman’ (< PIE *√seĝh- ‘hold firmly,' etc.).
